Biofeedback Relaxation
Brain and Body in Sport and Exercise: Biofeedback Applications in Performance Enhancement by Boris Blumenstein, With the remarkable technical advances of recent years, the use of highly technical means of sport psychology has gained momentum. Biofeedback (BFB) typifies one of the most important perspective methods of training athletes for better self-control and relaxation. This book aims to show how BFB techniques can be used with these new devices to provide optimum performance.

Biofeedback - Biofeedback is a form of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) which involves measuring bodily processes such as blood pressure, heart rate, skin temperature, galvanic skin response (sweating), and muscle tension in order to raise a subject's awareness and conscious control of these functions. Devices as simple as mirrors and bathroom scales can be considered rudimentary biofeedback devices, insofar as the information they provide can help a person with issues related to posture and weight; more complex biofeedback devices have been used therapeutically with several conditions, including epilepsy, asthma, incontinence, irritable bowel syndrome, Raynaud's disease, ... Havriliak-Negami relaxation - Havriliak-Negami relaxation is an empirical modification of the Debye relaxation model, accounting for the asymmetry and broadness of the dielectric dispersion curve. The model was first used to describe the dielectric relaxation of some polymers, by adding two exponential parameters to the Debye equation: Dielectric relaxation - In physics, dielectric relaxation refers to the relaxation reponse of a dielectric medium to an external field of microwave frequencies. This relaxation is often described in terms of permittivity as a function of frequency, which can, for ideal systems, be described by the Debye equation. Debye relaxation - Debye relaxation is the dielectric relaxation response of an ideal, noninteracting population of dipoles to an alternating external electric field. It is usually expressed in the complex permittivity \varepsilon of a medium as a function of the field's frequency \omega:

During urination, muscles in the wall of the bladder can move downward, pushing slightly out of the bladder and into the urethra during moments of physical stress. Incontinence is treatable and often curable at all ages. See also fecal incontinence. Stress incontinence can worsen during the week before the menstrual period. Medical professionals describe such a bladder as "unstable," "spastic," or "overactive." Patients with urge incontinence is involuntary loss of urine occurring for no apparent reason while suddenly feeling the need or urge to urinate. Incontinence will occur if your bladder muscles suddenly contract or muscles surrounding the urethra during moments of physical stress. Incontinence is treatable and often curable at all ages. See also fecal incontinence. Stress incontinence is an biofeedback relaxation.
